Finally in Palau!

After Taiwan we enter again in the plane to finally arrive at our final destination, Palau!

Depois de Taiwan entrámos outra vez no avião para finalmente chegarmos ao nosso destino final, Palau!

We were so excited that everything that we saw was completely absorbed. The airport, people, vegetation, road, everything was excitingly new. Our mission experience was finally starting and that was hard to believe.
I remember a small Filipino woman coming to pick us up. Little did we know that she would be such an amazing friend and support to us (thank you Cynthia).

Nós estávamos tão excitados que tudo o que víamos era absorvido. O aeroporto, pessoas, vegetação, estrada, tudo era extremamente novo. A nossa experiência missionária estava finalmente a começar e era difícil de acreditar. Lembro-me que uma pequena mulher filipina veio nos buscar. Sem imaginarmos que ela seria uma amiga e suporte fantástico para nós (obrigado Cynthia).

In the van travel, she told us everything about everything (LOL) which, was hard to follow up. On the same day, we also met Chief, one of our fellow missionaries, that later had to be called by is other name, Fred. so we wouldn’t offend the actual chief of the island. An amazing calm man with a strong desire to serve that also became a close friend. Finally, at the school, we got a little bit emotional when we looked at the place that we would be serving for the next months. We also saw our new house that you can see in the pictures below.

Na viagem de carrinha, ela disse-nos tudo sobre tudo o que for difícil de acompanhar. No mesmo dia, também conhecemos o Chief (chefe em inglês), um dos nossos colegas missionários, que mais tarde teve de ser chamado Fred para não ofender o verdadeiro chefe da ilha. Um fantástico e calmo homem com um grande desejo de servir que também se tornou um amigo chegado. Finalmente, na escola, ficámos um bocadinho emocionados a olhar para o lugar onde estaríamos a servir pelos próximos meses. Tambem vimos a nossa nova casa que voces podem ver nas imagens seguintes.

Unfortunately, we had to live with another couple during this year, information that was only given to us last minute during our plane travel, a situation that would become one of the hardest challenges of our mission during the year.
We were very tired but we felt happy and blessed like never before. Our hearts were filled with expectations and ideas and we were ready for the new adventures that our God had reserved.

Infelizmente, tivemos de viver com outro casal durante este ano, informação de última hora que nos foi dada durante a viagem de avião, uma situação que se tornaria um dos desafios mais difíceis da nossa missão. Estávamos muito cansados, mas sentíamo-nos felizes e abençoados como nunca antes. Os nossos corações estavam cheios de expectativas e ideias, e nós estávamos prontos para as novas aventuras preparadas pelo nosso Deus.
